This week, we bring you a super special edition of the Xbox 360 Fancast. Rather than just listening to us gab on and on about Burnout Paradise, the new Gears of War maps, and the metric ton of leaked Halo 3 goodness (which we do), why not listen to an interview with Mitch Gitelman? Who's Mitch Gitelman you ask? Why he's none other than the studio manager of FASA Studio, creators of the upcoming Xbox 360 and PC title, Shadowrun. We talk his ear off for nearly an hour about all things Shadowrun, from the game's genesis to its impending release. You may download the show below ... and you'd better.Get the podcast[iTunes] Subscribe to the Podcast directly in iTunes (MP3).[RSS MP3] Add the Xbox 360 Fanboy Podcast feed (in MP3) to your RSS aggregator and have the show delivered automatically.[MP3] Download the MP3 directly.

  • Major Nelson teases new Dashboard details on Xbox 360 Fancast

If you haven't been listening to our very own Xbox 360 Fancast, you really ought to be! The team at Xbox 360 Fanboy just celebrated their tenth installment with a very special guest: Spring Dashboard rumors! Oh, and Major Nelson was there too. First, the bad news. According to Major (at around 0:39:45), the oft-requested clan support functionality ain't gonna be coming in the impending Spring update. That doesn't mean individual titles can't use the available API to support clans, but don't expect to see Dashboard level functionality. Now the good news: Major says (at around 0:40:30) that the update will include "simple things that I've been asking for since launch." 360 Fanboy put their thinking caps on and came up with a pretty convincing guess. Adding some "Play Game" verbiage to determine what game is in the drive is a feature that Major's been vocal about and, they remind us, early Dashboard screenshots (like the one pictures above) included this functionality. It's been a long time coming, so let's hope it is coming.Listen -- Xbox 360 Fancast 010 featuring XBL's Major NelsonSpeculate -- Spring update may upgrade "Play Game" verbiageDenied -- What's not in the spring update: clan support

We hinted at having a special guest on this upcoming Xbox 360 Fancast, and as it turns out, it will be Larry Hryb a.k.a. Major Nelson. We're thrilled at the chance to have him on our show, especially considering some of the current events this week. So, since we're going to be there, he's going to be there, and you're going to be listening, we figured you should be involved. So, do you have any questions for the Xbox Live Director of Programming? Obviously, inquiries about upcoming demos or patches may be a little tedious, so we're looking for unique and/or well thought out questions. You can either leave them in a comment, or shoot us an email at fancast [at] xbox360fanboy [dot] com.

It's been a long hard road, but the Fancast has finally made it. That's right, it's our third-iversary. But we won't waste your time with flashbacks and clips from our expansive catalogue of old shows. No, we delve deep into the newest bits of info about our beloved Xbox 360. This week, we discuss all the latest Halo 3 news, unearth all the happenings on Xbox Live Arcade, poor some salt into Sony's already festering PR wound, and even round up some new Oblivion and Square-Enix news. And of course, there's a bunch of inane and pointless banter, too. It just wouldn't be a Fancast without it.Get the podcast[iTunes] Subscribe to the Podcast directly in iTunes (MP3).[RSS MP3] Add the Xbox 360 Fanboy Podcast feed (in MP3) to your RSS aggregator and have the show delivered automatically. As always, you can download the MP3 directly at the bottom of this post.

To the sound of much fanfare and the smell of Old Spice, the Xbox Rewards program was made official this week. Naturally, we all have our own feelings about this. Our own resident achievement whore, David Dreger, will be unable to participate because he doesn't live in the United States (it's a helluva commute to Fanboy Towers for him). We want to know how you feel about the program. Is it a good thing to reward players for achievements? Is it just a sneaky way to get all of us to buy or rent more games? If you've got something to say, send an email to fancast[AT]xbox360fanboy[DOT]com. If you want, you can even send us a recorded message (WAV or MP3). If you've got something thought provoking to say, we might just share it with the world during the next Fancast. Of course, you can also leave comments right here. Tell us what you think, fanboys, then check out the Fancast next week.

Not only that, but we're expanding the Fancast this week with listener mail! Gasp as we discuss our favorite "positions." Thrill as we design the ultimate multiplayer lobby. If you've got questions or comments for the fine young cannibals hosts of the Xbox 360 Fancast, send them to fancast[AT]xbox360fanboy[DOT]com. If you're as fascinated by your own voice as we are, you could even send us your question in real life audio (WAV or MP3, please).
