New LG netbook lands gently in Korea

LG can be forgiven for receiving a little help in getting its first netbook, the X110, out the door. However, the company doesn't seem to be really trying to distinguish itself from the herd with its second one either, the 10-inch Xnote Mini. It features the same basic setup as the rest, including an Atom processor, 160GB hard drive, 1.3 megapixel camera, and 3-cell battery all contained in a svelte 2.6 pound enclosure. No word on price or availability outside of Korea, where it's been released, but if you're looking for a lightweight 10-incher we think you can already do better without breaking the bank.

[Thanks, Chris]

LG's 13.3-inch P300 arrives in Europe, Americans beg a little more

As expected, South Koreans got their hands around LG's stylish P300 a good while back, and while Americans just knew it was headed stateside in short order, it looks like Europe has received the nod for second dibs. The LED-backlit 13.3-incher reportedly packs an Intel T8300 processor (yeah, that's Penryn), 3GB of DDR2 RAM, an NVIDIA graphics set, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel camera, dual-layer DVD writer and a couple of USB 2.0 ports to boot. For those already head over heels for the design, you can lay down €1,599 ($2,350) right now to claim your own -- just don't rub it in too much, okay?

[Thanks, Aido]

LG's 13.3-inch P300 series of LED-backlit laptops

LG's dressing up the gear-waifs to roll out product again in South Korea. Up on the block is this, their new XNOTE P300-series of 13.3-inch LED backlit 1,280 x 800 laptops. The top-end, ₩2,600,000 (about $2,810) model touts a 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo T7500 processor, 2GB of memory, 256MB of NVIDIA Geforce 8600M graphics, 250GB of disk, super multi-drive disc, 1.3 megapixel camera, integrated WWAN, and HDMI out. Although we'd appreciate a few more pixels on that screen, an easy on the shoulder 1.6-kg (3.5-pounds) weight is sounding might fine.

LG's XNOTE R200 with SideShow out in Korea

LG just kicked out the Z1 prototype as the production-quality, dual-LCD XNOTE R200. That 2.5-inch touch-sensitive, Windows SideShow LCD makes for quick access to email, photos, music, "mini-games" and plenty of Vista gadgets without having to boot the OS or even flip open the lappie. The laptop itself starts with a basic (R200-EP76K) configuration of a 12.1-inch LCD, 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB of memory, 128MB of ATI HD 2400 graphics, 802.11a/g/draft-n, and 160GB of disk for as estimated ₩2,240,000. That's about $2,440 should it ever arrive Stateside. Anyone else feeling a bit let down by the dearth of SideShow devices after all the fuss made by the industry at CES in January?

LG's XNOTE TX with 120GB Hybrid Hard Drive: library card not included

Nothing makes us think "educated" more than a Korean gadget-waif holding a text book twice the size of her skirt. Or so says LG who just launched their 12.1-inch XNOTE TX for the "young generation." The E200-series sports a 2GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB of memory, 1.3 megapixel webcam, super multi-drive DVD, and HDMI-out standard while being one of the first batch of laptops to pack a 120GB hybrid hard disk (HHD) with 256MB of flash. This 3.96-pound, WXGA laptop hits for ₩1,400,000 or about $1,500.

LG's 19-inch S900-UP73K Xnote goes big at SEK 2007

LG's Xnote lineup essentially has all of its bases covered with regard to sizes, as it includes laptops ranging from ultraportable to ultra-ginormous -- the latter of which was recently showcased at SEK 2007. This 19-inch behemoth likely required photos to be taken from several steps back, but aside from its awkwardly large footprint, it sports a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB of RAM, NVIDIA's 256MB GeForce 8600M GS graphics set, a 320GB hard drive, dual-layer DVD burner, 802.11a/b/g, audio in / out, a number of USB ports, and a built-in flash card reader for good measure. No word on a release date or an estimated price, but be sure and click through for a few more shots of this beast on display.

LG's X-Note S900 pig forgets her lipstick

LG looks set to loose a new 19-inch XNOTE upon Korea. The S900 series slab pictured is spec'd to go budget with a WXGA+ resolution, 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo, 256MB GeForce 8600M GS graphics, 1GB memory, 802.11 a/b/g WiFi and a total of 320GB of disk. You do get a dedicated keypad, however. Uh, hoozah!? We're sure it'll pop from the barn with some higher-end options though come July.

LG's XNOTE Z1 series of 12.1-inch laptops

LG's offering a new series of 12.1-inch Core 2 Duo laptops in their hometown Korean market with this, their Z1 XNOTE. The Z1-P2007 is touted as the flagship model and ships with a WXGA LCD, 1.83GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 256MB of ATI Mobility Radeon X1350 graphics, and 1GB DDR2 memory and 100GB SATA disk. They also pack in an optical disc drive supporting unspecified formats, a 5-in-1 memory card reader, a couple of 1.5W speakers, and support for SRS WOW, and SRS TruSurround. However, unlike LG's ultra-portable 12.1-inch TX, the Z1 brings some relative chunk tipping the scales at 1.89-kg or 4.2-pounds. Still, not a bad all purpose machine for toting around campus on a daily basis. But with a price tag of 1,840,000KRW or about $2,000, you're going to need some help from mom and dad to bring this pup home.

LG goes crazy small with new A1 and C1 XNotes

If we recall correctly, the last time we attempted a romantic romp with our laptop in a picturesque field of flowers and greenery, we got some killer allergies and ended up tripping over some hidden crap in the grass and busting up our computer -- but we're willing to give it all another go for a chance to hang out with these sexy new A1 and C1 XNote ultraportables from LG. We're unfortunately short on details, but both laptops sport 1.2GHz Core Duo processors, 64MB GeForce 7300 Go graphics, 10.6-inch 1,366 x 768 displays (with some swivel action on the C1), along with WiBro, HSDPA and DMB. The C1 version on the left weighs a mere 2.8 pounds, and does the Tablet PC, swivel screen thing, while the A1 goes for uber-svelte at 2.2 pounds. There's no info on anything crazy like price or availability, but now that these are out in the open, LG better not be keeping their ultralight goodness -- with a yummy, WWAN/DTV center -- away from us for long.

LG's XNOTE V1 series of 15-inch Core Duo laptops

LG's kicking around a new Core Duo lineup this morning with their XNOTE V1-WCUP4 laptop. Besides sportin' Intel's Core Duo procs, these 15-inchers bring ATI Radeon Xpress 200M graphics, DDR2 667MHz memory, SATA disks, a 5-in-1 memory card reader, and, well that's about all we know. Besides echoing a peculiarly apropos name given world events, it's just a decent, middle-of-the road Core Duo lappie that shouldn't blow the budget.

LG's XNOTE S1-P555K laptop with HD DVD player

Somewhere in the world LG is showing off their new XNote S1-P555K laptop sporting one of them newfangled HD DVD players. No surprise to see non-Blu-ray product rolling out of LG after inking that HD-DVD patent sharing deal with Toshiba. She's said to tote a 1680 x 1050 pixel resolution, Core Duo processor, ATI X1600 graphics with 256MB dedicate VRAM, Component video, and of course, that sweet, sweet HD DVD love. And with a "15.1-inch" screen, this lappie can almost be classed as ultra-portable when compared to the 17 and 20 plus-inch HD DVD beasts rolled out thus far. However, judging by that picture, Akihabara News either made a typo or that model is crazy small. Taking linear perspective into account, we're leaning towards the former dontchathink? Be your own judge and check the snaps after the break.

Update: We tracked down the (unlinkable) press release and yeah, she's damn small. That's a 15.4-inch HD DVD laptop with numeric keypad, aight.

LG's dual-core, super-slim 14-inch XNOTE T1 laptop

Here's another dual-core ultraportable to add to your drool-list (probably just due to its looks): LG's latest superslim XNOTE laptop, the 14.1-inch T1. Unfortunately you'll probably never see this piano black, 21.5-millimeter thick notebook over here in the States, which is a shame considering how many features they managed to cram into just a 4.2-pound package, most notably a dual-layer DVD burner, 5-in-1 media card reader, plus Bluetooth and 802.11a/b/g. Performance, though, is nothing to write home about, with the low end L2300 1.5GHz Centrino Duo processor, integrated graphics, and pokey 4200RPM 60GB or 80GB PATA drives probably making this model a non-starter for gamers or serious multitaskers. For simple web browsing, emailing, or DVD watching on-the-go, however, the 512MB to 2GB of RAM and optional 1,440 x 900 WXGA+ screen should prove more than adequate.
