Logitech QuickCam Fusion adds improved performance, cheesy effects

Logitech QuickCam Fusion

Logitech has updated their signature QuickCam webcam to a new version that the company touts as having a "true" 1.3 megapixel resolution for still shots (meaning no interpolation), enhancements to improve low-light performance and audio quality, a handy monitor clip, and a wide-angle lens with a 78-degree field of view (great if you have more than one person on your end who wants to get in on a call; bad if your room's a mess and you'd rather not have it be visible). The $99.99 QuickCam Fusion also comes with some new software, which we assume Logitech has developed for the business market: Video Effects lets you create 3D avatars that mimic your facial expressions, and also allows you to add effects to your own onscreen image. We're hoping it can erase that three-day growth of stubble and the circles under our eyes, but that might be asking for too much.
