GM signs up for Sharp's dual-view LCD

Sharp dual display

Sharp just announced their very first customer for those dual view LCD screens they announced back in July that are capable of simultaneously display completely different images when viewed from different angles: General Motors, which is going to start testing them in Europe on Opel's Vectra Caravan car. We figured most people would want a dual-view LCD so they could play games or check out porn while everyone else thinks they're working on spreadsheets or whatever, but GM's going to use the dual-view LCDs so that the driver can keep an eye on the car's GPS navigation system while everyone else can watch DVDs or fiddle with the car stereo. Aw, screw it, it's so you can secretly watch porn while you're driving.
