Direct TV new HD DVR early 2006

I'm sure all of you know that DirecTV is switching over to MPEG-4 compression for the new high definition stations. In addition, I am sure that you know that the high-def box that you have will not carry the new stations. Moreover, I am sure that many of you are waiting, biting your nails, and tapping your toes till you can go out and get that HD DVR you have been waiting for that will work. Well it's time to break out the construction paper and make a paper chain for the target release is early 2006.

This story is near and dear to my heart so I will keep on top of this one for details concerning the unit itself. DirecTV has not released any details about the box yet. If anyone has reliable info about this new box, drop us a note.
