Georgia school reduces suspension for student's call from Mom in Iraq

Soldier talking on cellphone

Here's the follow-up to yesterday's story about the kid who got suspended for accepting a cellphone call from his Mother on a tour of duty in Iraq: after the press got wind of the story and publicized it widely, the Spencer High School school board got an earful (or at least a mailbox full) of public outcry against what many considered the harsh punishment for something the school might have been a bit more flexible about. They've decided to reduce Kevin Francois's sentence to only three days, meaning he will be able to return to school on Monday.
