Italian R2D2 with Bluetooth and USB!

Italian R2D2

Some folks at the University of Pisa's MediaLab made this functional prototype of R2D2, with the goal of creating a kind of "slave or companion robot with a friendly interface." It's slightly taller than the original R2 so that its camera eye can more easily interact with humans. It walks and beeps just like the iconic bot we all know and love, comes equipped with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, and, of course, has been programmed to recognize light sabres — a skill any domestic robot really ought to have down pat.
