Lufthansa Technik's AirTrack

Lufthansa Technik AirTrack cockpit

This baby's a little over a year old, but Lufthansa Technik has apparently been steadily loading up Deutsche air carriers like Air Berlin with their nifty AirTrack system. No, it doesn't actually do anything useful, it's just another costly nicety that replaces that already dated GPS-enabled plane-icon-over-the-map trick with steadily moving satellelite imagery of the flight path, so you can see the ground miles below. There's even a cockpit mode where you can "see" out the nose like the pilots (image right)—but no word on what happens to the whole sim in the instance of a sudden loss of altitude or cabin pressure, god forbid.
