So Coldplay prides themselves on being down with fair trade and environmentalism and whatnot, and in that vein they're putting out a rather curious addition to the usual band merch lineup: a special Coldplay-branded Solio solar iPod charger, emblazoned with graphics from their new album, X & Y. Ahhh yes, the perfect combination of environmentalism, commercialism, Apple religious devotion and self-promotion. Undoubtedly the limited run of 200 is being snatched up by the hordes of activist-minded, iPod-toting Coldplay fans as we speak. It could very well already be too late to part with your 80£.
