1080p LCD HDTV from Sharp

Kevin C. Tofel

We heard a little about these earlier in the year, when the specs were as fuzzy as an SDTV signal. Now we can finally shed some clarity on this 1080p capable 45-inch LCD HDTV from Sharp. The Aquos LC-45GX6U is almost four-feet diagonal of crystal-clear clarity in 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Included is a integrated digital tuner, which we absolutely love since a set-top box just wouldn't look right next to this sleek, sexy set. Featuring an 800:1 contrast ratio and a 170-degree viewing angle, the LC just can't disappoint. DVI, HDMI, compenent, composite and S-Video are all supported as is a CableCARD. Just for kicks, Sharp designed the LC to be EnergyStar compliant too. I think I just drooled all over my TV remote.

We've seen the Sharp LC-45 on-line for about $4,500. We say it's worth every penny.
