The iMuse high-end home entertainment system

Nah, this isn't the same iMUSE that used to power music in old school Lucasarts SCUMM-based adventure games—this iMuse media system takes dead aim at the custom media server market players like Kaleidescape and Chord with their much more box-centric (and apparently cost effective) solution. Each room gets an iMuse Sierra PC (which you may recognize is the same media PC that Gateway and Alienware, etc. OEM), which run Windows XP and iMuse's media platform software. Each can play back (and rip) media to the central server, the Summit, which itself stores all its data on expandable with up to 14TB in Avalanche firewire RAID arrays. The iMuse distributes to each room via Gigabit Ethernet (or WiFi), and also supports 1080p, FLAC and OGG, DVR functionality, Podcasting, and a whole bunch of other niceties that the competition doesn't have or is are asking a whole lot more cash for. Still, $15,000 is a little steep for a four-room anything solution, so know what you're getting into (not that we think you wouldn't).
