It wasn't all that long ago that we waited anxiously by the mailbox to receive our new LaCie Tsunami 350MB external hard drive, giving us a huge storage bump for our Mac IIsi. Nowadays, hard drives only interest us if they approach the 1TB mark. With that in mind, we were excited by LaCie's announcement earlier this year of their 250GB, 400GB, and 500GB Ethernet Disk mini line. Tom's Networking recently took the 250GB version through its paces, and was pleased with its ability to act as both a Network Attached Storage (NAS) and USB external drive. Not quite as pleasing were the transfer speeds (which Tom's found to be subpar for both types of connections) and the poor cross-platform compatibility.
