Oct 3: What's on HDTV today

Comet Impact

What we're watching:

Shhh......f you can keep a secret, I'll share my programming pick tonight. I don't want those on International Space Station with their HD gear to tune in to Discovery-HD at 8:00 p.m. in 1080i. I'll be watching "Fireballs from Space" at that time and I recommend you do too. This program is four years old but the visuals are stunning. And scary too. The show is all about comets, meteors and such as well as theoretical impacts of...well...impacts.

Once the show is over, we're encouraging the ISS folks to tune in to Monday Night Football on ABC at 9:00 p.m. in 720p. Can the "Pack" bait the Panthers with some Wisconsin cheese? I'm actually not sure what that means, but it sounded good at the time. Besides, in high-def, you could count the number of holes in those silly cheese-head hats.

After the jump is our traditional listing of HD programs throughout the night.
