Lightspace Depthcube 3D volumetric display

3dtv

We think the folks at LightSpace Technologies may be indulging in a little bit of hyperbole when they call the DepthCube the "world's first solid-state volumetric 3D display." After all, the display, which works by using a DLP projector that shoots a series of 3D images at a stack of 20 shutters built into a 19-inch display, sounds a bit like the prototype 3D display developed by DeepLight. However, we're not exactly complaining. The more glasses-free 3D displays there are, the better. Especially since LightSpace claims theirs is fast enough for gaming.
