Stockholders approve GameStop, EBGames merger
Stockholders from both companies have approved the merger of GameStop and EBGames, which means only time stands in the way of a full merger. Everything should be finalized tomorrow and the newly formed company, GameStop Corp., will begin trade on the New York Stock Exchange Monday, under the ticker symbol GME.
This merger, over 5 months in the making, combines two of the largest stand-alone video game stores in the US. Are there any other video game stores, not affiliated with either of these companies, near where you live?
