7-Eleven to vend iPods in Japan?
Oh, there's no doubt that things are different over there when it comes to the way Japanese consumers buy their goods. We're talking about a country that has giant storefront-sized vending machines where you can automatically do all your grocery shopping. So while we're not exactly aghast at the fact that 7-Eleven has supposedly picked up a deal for reselling iPods in Japan, we do have to wonder what the incentive is if they're not keeping 'em on hand—apparently they arrive a couple days after you place the order. Maybe it's the whole Super Big Gulp + Big Bite hot dog + iPod combo for $404.99.
