Sure, you can now play video on your iPod. But that doesn't mean all the other portable media players are about to curl up and die (at least not yet). And some of the others are actually still garnering solid praise, including one of our faves, the Archos Gmini 402. PC Magazine took a look at the $300 unit, and found it to be a "fine player that will satisfy the techie crowd." In particular, they liked its "audio recording capabilities and its general versatility" and also felt that it "beats comparable players like the Cowon iAudio X5, especially in the video-playback department."
