HP introduces two desktops and a notebook

HP introduced three new computer models at today's DigitalLife show, with the highlight being a Digital Entertainment Center z556/z558 that includes two NTSC analog tuners and one over-the-air digital tuner for recording HD content. The z556/z558 includes most of the standard media PC features, such as the latest version of Windows Media Center, DVD-burner with Lightscribe, and some not-so-standard features like enhanced zooming for widescreen TV viewing and up to 500GB of storage space. Also announced was another desktop series, these ones being Slimline models, the s7000 lineup with a 9-in-1 card reader. Finally, HP will soon ship a new notebook, the 17-inch dv8000, with dedicated graphics card, 240GB max hard drive, AMD Turion 64 processor, and QuickPlay for bootless media capabilities. The z556 will be in available in a few weeks starting at $1500, the s7000 should be shipping in November starting at $450, and the dv8000 will also make its debut in November starting at $1100.
