Nov.22: What's on HDTV today

NHL

What we're watching
:

After coming up dry for an Xbox 360, I really feel like hitting something. Since that won't do me any good, I'm going to watch someone else hit something during tonight's NHL matchup on OLN-HD. These high-def hockey games are still carried on INHD, so that's where I'll be at 7 p.m. for the Lightning at the Flyers in 1080i. If the game is a runaway, I may jump to INHD2 at 9 p.m. for HD Imax presentation of "Wolves" in 1080i.

Of course the hottest comedies in high-def are on at 9 p.m. also. "My Name is Earl" followed by "The Office" are in 1080i on NBC. Whatever you think about my picks, please, PLEASE don't tell me how much you're going to watch you new Xbox 360. Deal?

After the jump is our traditional listing of HD programs throughout the night.

Here are some other HDTV programs showing on selected networks today. All times are Eastern:

ABC (720p): They must have got a 360 since there's no HD programming here.

CBS (1080i): NCIS (8 p.m.), Threshold (10 p.m.), The Late Show with David Letterman (11:35 p.m.)

NBC (1080i): My Name is Earl (9 p.m.), The Office (9:30 p.m.), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (10 p.m.), The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (11:35 p.m.)

Fox (720p): Bones (8 p.m.), House (9 p.m.)

UPN (1080i): Trying to come up with a rad new Gamer Tag for Xbox Live. Can I suggest: "NoHD2Day?"

WB (1080i):
Gilmore Girls (8 p.m.), Supernatural (9 p.m.)

HBO-HD (1080i): Big Fish (5:45 p.m.), The Sopranos (8 p.m.), Rome (9 p.m.)
