CRT's: Back again for the first time
Just as we were mentioning that the CRT isn't dead yet, STMicroelectronics announced Friday that their new chip technology, the HD1, will allow for slimmer, cheaper television sets in bigger sizes. The long and the short of what this piece does is improved power management horizontal deflection cells.
Check out STM's product page for more specific information, but for those us without an EE degree I think space and money saving is all the technical jargon necessary.
