Conexant invades Asia: 2 IPTV set top boxes planned

Ok, you were listening when I told you China would be the biggest market, along with Europe for IPTV services right? And you were listening when I told you they were likely to select MPEG-4 as their coding standard right? Well I see Conexant was paying attention anyway as they have over the last couple days announced deals with two different (Yuxing and Coship) set top box manufacturers to use their MPEG-4/h.264 decoding solution.

As both HDTV and IPTV continue to spread it will be interesting to see which companies have the right technology at the right time to take advantage.
