Iwata misunderstood?

MCV is reporting that the latest statements regarding a global launch of the Revolution from Mr. Iwata have been grossly misunderstood, a supposed Nintendo spokesperson told the site.

“The comments have been taken out of context,” a Nintendo spokesperson told MCV. “What he’s actually saying is that we’re not holding a worldwide launch just because everyone else is doing one too. It’s just another re-iteration of the fact that we’re not looking at what Sony or Microsoft are doing."

While deep down this Blogger hungers to believe this, the fact that this source is not named naturally elicits a healthy amount of skepticism. Considering Nintendo launched the DS in America first, this isn't something that is totally impossible, yet unless this comes from Mr. Iwata's mouth directly, we'll just chalk it up to speculation.
