glamorous pair of displays to be the first LCD TVs with LED backlights to go into production (as far as we know). But for what the Proton TVs lack in style or brand name, they make up for with specs: the 42-incher has a 1080p resolution, 1,200:1 contrast ratio, 6.5ms response time and 500 nits brightness. The 32-incher doesn't fare as well, with a mere 1,366 x 768 resolution, 8ms response time, 1,000:1 contrast and 550 nits, but it's still hard to complain with those LEDs running the show. No word on price, but we should be seeing these around Q3 this year.
