Nobuo Uematsu behind PLAY! opening fanfare

Dan Choi

In a game-music coup, PLAY! A Video Game Symphony has snagged the talents of Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu to write the official opening fanfare for the concert tour.

The plan is to perform the fanfare "as the very first title of every PLAY! concert world-wide," according to an announcement made late last week. Dates for the show have so far been announced in Chicago, Stockholm, Philadelphia, Vienna (Virginia), and Toronto.

To catch a sample of the Uematsu-penned theme, simply visit the PLAY! home page. The fanfare will automatically play, so adjust your volume levels accordingly. Close the window or watch for that "sound OFF" link on the right if you're caught off-guard by the auto-audio.
