Tomb Raider, Hitman exceed sales expectations

UK publisher SCi Entertainment is throwing big parties with lots of cake.* Thanks to better-than-expected sales of Tomb Raider: Legend and Hitman: Blood Money, SCi announced that it expects to record a trading profit of GBP 25 million (approximately US $45.6 million) for the financial year ending June 30.

SCi revealed Tuesday that it has sold 2.9 million copies of Legend, which was released in April, and 1.5 million copies of Blood Money, which was released May 30th. In May of 2005, SCi delayed the two titles so as to "maximize their hit potential." Looks like they made a smart move.

* This is unsubstantiated. In truth, we just like to dream of cake. Mmm, cake.
