Ericsson, Samsung scrap over 11 patents
Patent lawsuits are a way of life for handset manufacturers, it seems. Today's complaint comes courtesy of Ericsson -- one of Sony Ericsson's corporate parents, in case you couldn't tell from the name -- which has sued Samsung and several of its subsidiaries over 11 patents covering the gamut from power saving tech to RF. While we haven't the foggiest idea whether the lawsuit carries any merit, we wouldn't be totally surprised if it did; taking a look at recent FCC Fridays, Samsung's been cookin' up handsets at such a breakneck pace that we have to believe they're cutting corners somewhere.
