Sex, beer and Guitar Hero in the Lower East Side

It's common knowledge that people who play guitar are cool and get girls, but what about people who play guitar-based video games? The Village Voice tried to answer this question through a trip to the weekly Tuesday night Guitar Hero party at Pianos in New York City's lower East side.

The whooping crowds and high-energy, beer-spilling performances described in the article definitely speak to the coolness of playing a toy guitar in a dark, crowded bar. In the end, though, the author lamentably concludes that "Guitar Hero's status as an aphrodisiac is inconclusive." That is until he asks Marcus Henderson, who recorded over 50 of the guitar tracks for the series. "Nothing's sexier than undulating and thrusting about with a plastic guitar while standing on the bar destroying drinks and eardrums," Henderson said. Really, how can you argue with that?
