Serious Sam shoots for three, dev talks new IP

The spiritual descendant of Duke Nukem, living vicariously in his extended absence, is back for more. Croatian developer Croteam announced in their native gaming magazine GamePlay that they are currently working on Serious Sam 3.

Fan site Seriously! has obtained a copy of the magazine and posted the highlights from the interview with the developer. Also discussed is a new IP, a "military tactical-action shooter" powered by the Serious Engine 3. "The game is set in the present; with 'in your face' action and requiring gamers to think before shooting," they said. Sounds like a pretty serious title for the makers of the not-so-serious Serious Sam series. (Go on, say that three times fast.)

Croteam COO Davor Hunski said that an official announcement for Serious Sam 3 will be coming soon from the publisher. "I honestly hope it will see the light of day soon," he said.
