Guildwatch: That's rediculous

Yes, we know the headline is spelled wrong -- that's the joke. (So feel free to make fun of anyone who points out the misspelling in the comments; they're fair game.) In the meantime, the more "rediculous" the guild names, the better for us. Why would you want to name your guild Sentinels of Azeroth when you could name it something like Dont Be That Guy?

In the meantime, click the link below to see all the drama, downed, and recruiting news we got from across the realms this week. And don't forget to send your tips (especially drama -- let us know if you see anything either on your realm's forums or on your guild's forums) to wowguildwatch@gmail.com. Because not sending your tips to Guildwatch is pretty rediculous, if you ask us.

DRAMA

  • Mark of the Beast on Echo Isles reportedly imploded the other day, losing half its members in one night. We're told the guild was trying to revamp after a bunch of officers left to form Noir, but the GM had things happen in RL, and everything snowballed after that. Some guildies have moved to Far Beyond Driven, but others have headed off to new challenges.

  • Cross-guild loot drama! VoA on Korgath posted that a Warglaive dropped on their first-ever Illidan kill, and that made some older guilds (including Death and Taxes) a little less than happy. I can't believe that thread goes on as long as it does -- it's luck, guys. If you've been farming Illidan for nine months and haven't seen a Warglaive, maybe it just wasn't meant to be.

  • Someone is watching Gwen Stefani (a.k.a. GS) on Blackhand, and saying that the guild is hiring ringers from guilds like Trancended, Stormforged, and Redefined to come with them into instances and help them down bosses. Our anonymous tipster says that GS's leader just shouldn't have all that T6 on, and we're told that Blackhand's PvE players don't appreciate players claiming to be elite when they're really paying for help.

  • Shadow Ravens on Kargath got disbanded -- the GM, Soteria, decided to shut the whole thing down instead of handing off leadership. A little selfish, no?

  • Catfight between Axis and Negative Bro on Archimonde. It's sad, really.

  • Guilds call each other out for lots of reasons, but I don't believe guild names has ever been one of them. What's so "rediculous" about Darkness of Light and Daddy Issues?

DOWNED

  • Attack the Darkness on Norgannon-H has downed Teron Gorefiend, so not only is Bloodboil on notice, but their rivals on the Alliance side of the server are as well.

  • Ascension of Blackwater Raiders-H keeps on rolling through Tier 6 and claiming more server firsts for the glory of the Horde! Last week saw the fall of Naj'entus, Supremus and Shade of Akama, and this week Kaz'rogal and Teron Gorefiend joined them in the trophy room! Grats!

  • Shut Up and Pull of the Shu'halo defeated Archimonde and then dropped Reliquary of Souls. Later in the week, they dropped Shahraz, too. Not a lot of talking in this guild apparently -- mostly just pulling.

  • Untouchables on EU Lightbringer-A downed both Morogrim Tidewalker and Solarian this week! And apparently pie and cookies are on notice after that. Where can we raid some of those?

  • Creations of the Light on Stormrage-A is a casual, Christian guild that just downed Prince Malchezaar for the first time last night after our first kills on Shade of Aran and Illhoof. Nightbane is on notice and after Kara is clear, it's onwards to ZA. Good luck in there.

  • Gryning on Aszune-EU killed Lady Vashj herself. Just Kael'thas is standing between them and Hyjal now, and like many guilds, they're headed there before patch 2.4!

  • This got sent in in the form of what looks like a haiku:

    Dusk Raiders on Cenarion Circle-A
Has killed another Mount Hyjal boss
    Kaz'rogal is dead

It's not actually a haiku (5-7-5, people!), but I like it anyway. If anyone else wants to send in downed notices in poetic form feel free. Later in the week, DR also killed Naj, Supremus, and Shade of Akama, but that one wasn't nearly as poetic, unfortunately.

  • Unrated on Nagrand-H has finally downed Illidan. There's also a nostalgic look back at the guild's history on their website. Ah those Karazhan days in June 2007 -- it only seems like less than a year ago.

  • Redeemed on Burning Blade downed Najentus, supremus, and Shade of Akama all on their first night in Black Temple. They're also still recruiting prot pallies and feral druids.

  • The Serenity Knights (server?) walked into SSC and one shotted every boss they had on farm, and then killed Leo for the first time on the third pull. Which, of course, left them ample time to start work on Vashj.

  • Blades of Light on Sentinels-A dropped Gruul like a sack of potatoes.

  • Dont Be That Guy of Malfurion recently killed both Solarian in TK and Malacrass in ZA. Grats!

  • Lords of the Realm is a casual guild on Bronzebeard-A that is farming Karazhan and has dropped Gruul twice so far. They aren't actively recruiting, but if you want to help them fill out their 25 man raids, let them know.

  • DeathTrip on Blackhand-H downed Solarian and Zul'Jin in the past week, with Void Reaver and Lurker falling to farm status. Leo is on notice, and they're still seeking a few good raiders, including some DPS and a tank or two.

  • After a month's worth of attempts, Nebulous on Shandris-A downed Lady Vashj. They're headed towards Kael, and aiming to hit MH/BT pre-2.4.

  • Big grats to Cake or Death on Runetotem-H: they headed into Karazhan, and made their offer to Attument, Moroes and Maiden, and every single one of them chose death. Weird. They're casual, so this is double the achievement. And they say they're always looking for a few more if you want to join in.

  • Pango Honoratus on Twisting Nether ventured into SSC oand proceeded to down The Loot Below. Grats! Screenshot above.

  • The Forgotten Knights on Gnomeregan-A has downed Gruul the Dragonkiller for a guild first. They've made it through a lot of drama, and now they're back. Loot Reaver is on notice and recruiting is up and running.

  • Dark Knight Alliance and Tell Your Sister Thanks (winner of this week's Best Guild Name award) formed an alliance to take down the monstrous Gruul for a guild first for both guilds. They had a fun time, too -- their MT died and DPS had to fly into action to take the big guy down. Grats!)

  • Innate downed Illidan, marking a server first for Exodar (they're on Horde side). A big congratulations to everybody there.

  • Sparda on Gilneas-A downed Illidan and they also picked up a Warglaive on the first time around, making them second on the server to get one. Grats!

  • Southern Wardens on Proudmoore downed Leotheras the Blind making them 4/6 in SSC and 3/4 in TK.

  • Ascension of Moon Guard has downed Azgalor and Archimonde in Mount Hyjal and they're up to Teron Gorefiend in Black Temple. All server firsts, they say and all with a Paladin tank. So who says Paladins can't tank? Not me anymore.

  • Ugly Future on Steamwheedle Cartel has cleared Kara up to Prince, and numbered his days. They are also recruiting to fill up a second Kara team as well.

  • Schmitz n GiGGles on Greymane-H was fresh off a recent Void Reaver kill when they went back to play with High Astromancer Solarian. She tried to blow up their raid, but they slapped her around until she gave up her loot. Violence is never the answer, kids, unless it's against a raid boss.

RECRUITING

  • Sons of the Fallen Ones, a Horde guild on Smolderthorn is recruiting. They're looking for a few good healers and tanks to head off into Gruul's Lair, and they're especially looking for mature players who can raid on a schedule.

  • Final Storm on Spinebreaker-H is recruiting for a second Kara group and the 25man content. They especially want healers, but have a few DPS and tank spots open as well. And if you're interested in ZA, they're planning to do that too.

  • Legatim Ignavis on Kael'thas is recruiting level 70s to head off into 25mans and finish up Zul'Aman. If you're an intelligent, experienced raider, apply on their website.

  • Silent Redemption on Feathermoon has made it up to Leotheras and Void Reaver so far, and they're still looking to grab some warlocks and feral druids for progression through SSC and TK.

  • Dalla Spada is a raiding guild on the Farstriders that is currently recruiting mature and dedicated raiders. They're farming Karazhan, working through ZA, have one-shotted Gruul, and are looking at moving on. They're recruiting all classes for 25 man content with emphasis on resto shaman and druids, priests of all flavors, and prot warriors and paladins.

  • Mightiest of Beings on Gnomeregan-A is a 200+ member guild running Karazhan. They are currently recruiting healers for a second Kara team as well as more raiders for Gruul's. They're also taking on all classes for Kara keying and other Kara runs if the demand is there.

  • Flat Earth Society on Spinebreaker-H is recruiting people from the western Kentucky, southeastern Missouri, southern Illinois region (i.e. Paducah, Cape Girardo, Carbondale, Metropolis, etc., which is pretty sweet because I come from St. Louis, right in the middle of it all) for casual play. They have solid groups playing PvP, good gaming friends, and apparently they are rumored to have girl gamers. Wait, girls don't play WoW!

  • The Pride on Bronzebeard-A is currently looking for healers for their weekend raiding schedule. They are a casual guild and the mood is fun (often silly), but the drive of the guild is to shepherd members along so they can enjoy endgame content as a group. They also continually do attunement, gear, rep, and badge runs for up and coming members.

  • Northrend Privateers on Sentinels is not only "ahead of the rush on expansion guild names," but they are also looking for more members for 25 man content. They raid mostly on weekends, with runs also on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and they specifically want 70s (anyone below that can join Unseen University, where many of them have alts).

  • War Within a Breath on Azuremyst has cleared Karazhan a second time after starting it four weeks ago, and now they want to start bolstering ranks for a second group and also prepare for Gruul's. They are recruiting friendly folks looking for a relaxed atmosphere, the only requirement to join is above-average civility (they have a strict no jerks policy).

  • The Empire of Lost Souls (on Kilrogg) is recruiting raiders for TK and SSC. They're a casual raiding guild that has recently downed Lurker, Solarian, and Void Reaver and is looking for appropriately-geared people (particularly healers) to help them move on and defeat the next bosses in these two instances.

That's it for this week's GW -- I'm telling you guys, next week I want to see loads more drama. Don't forget that it's all anonymous, so feel free to turn in your guild's own forum threads as long as they're open to the public! Do it for the good of the cause. And until next week, as always, happy raiding!
