CoX: Throw Moar Slots!
CoX players have been crying out for extra character slots for some time. Now, with Issue 12 bringing both Powerset Proliferation and the new Villain Epic ATs, many of us had feared we'd have to delete some characters to make room for all the new ones we're aching to make. Positron has come to our rescue by confirming plans to add additional character slots with Issue 12. Here's how the optional additional character slots will work.
Everyone will receive 2 free slots when Issue 12 goes live, to be added to whichever servers they choose.
In addition, we'll get one free slot for every year we've been subscribed. So, some people will be starting out with up to 4 free Veteran Slots in addition to the 2 standard freebies.
We'll be able to purchase additional character slots. These are had for a one-time fee and don't add anything to the monthly subscription: 1 Slot for $5.99, 2 Slots for $9.99, or 5 Slots for $19.99.
The maximum number of slots per server will be increased to 36. A new slider will allow players to select characters to play from three columns of 12. We'll also be able to drag and drop characters on the same server from one slot to another.
Striking the balance between free handouts and paid extras can't have been easy, and NCSoft have just about nailed it here. With this feature on top of all the other tweaks and improvements, from the adjusted Costume Creator to the additional power trays, Issue 12 is rapidly turning into the Quality of Life Special.
