Stress test live blog
We've been preparing for the stress test, are mostly gemmed and enchanted up, and are looking to fight! I'll be updating this post as things happen, hopefully with riveting tales of victory and triumph over Alliance Care Bears. (Kidding of course, my main is an Human warrior.)
Read on after the break for the updates! We'll keep this front page only for things that are affecting everyone.
Updated 5:23 p.m. PST: Live blogging wrapped up for the day. Many many thanks to all the fans and GMs out there! It was a great day with lots of cool stuff happening. More analysis over the next couple days!

11:50 p.m. PST – Everyone is gathered up. Right now I'm playing a Shadow Priest, Amanda M. is playing a Holy Paladin, and Alex is an Arms Warrior. Amanda D. gave me a call and should be joining us in an hour or so.
12:15 p.m. PST - Server is VERY laggy. I forgot to get water last night when I was preparing my toons, and it's almost impossible to get the transaction to go through. Oh well, this is a beta after all. Everything seems to be taking about 5 minutes longer to do than normal.
12:25 p.m. PST - We're trying to make a guess at how many people are here. There are 13 spawn points, each with about 200 of each class by our count, so that makes roughly 1500 per spawn point. Figuring that the population is evenly distributed out over each spawn point, that's at least 19,500 people participating in the test. Of course, this is just us trying to guess.
12:30 p.m. PST - /waves to GM Clearwater. He /waved back!
12:30 p.m. PST - GM Clearwater one shots Killmelast. I'm going to duel him.
12:31 p.m. PST - Server shut down :-(
12:35 p.m. PST - GM Clearwater duels me. He fears. Playing a lock, of course. I get a few Mind Blast's in, but not to much avail, he's not taking any noticeable damage. I decide to MC him. It works! I'm in control of a GM. SS'ed for later. He Death Touch's me and I die.

Well, it's 3:46pm EST and the TTR just went down for an estimated 60 minutes of maintenance. While it's doing that, I'll take a moment to update you all on where I've been and what I've done!
12:49 p.m. PST : Gasps! I peeped into my WoWTest screenshots folder and there's nothing! None of the 80 or so screenshots I took are saved! I'm sorry guys. I'll have to tell you with words while I cry inside.
After I became tragically bored with Durotar, I hopped over to Undercity and began an epic ride through a very eerie, empty landscape. Even the ghosts are gone. Arriving in Deathknell I realize that no, the lag is not any better over here.
Then I spot the GMs. Hortus first, a giant, slightly sadistic Moonkin, giving out special mounts like the spectral tiger, pets like Mojo, and summoning bosses like Lord Kazzak. I hugged him. I waved to him. I got nothing. Nothing, and all of my screenshots are AWOL.
I did get a little WoW Insider love though! I'd post the screenies of that but well, QQ. [/Amanda Miller - Vehn]
12:55 p.m. PST - Hey guys, Alex here. Been having a good time so far, despite the tremendous amounts of lag. Lots of people stopped in to say Hi to the WoW Insider gang, and the awesome of being one-shotted by a GM's Death Coil was seconded only by the screencap below. Eagerly anticipating the server coming back!
1:40 p.m. PST - Adam here. TTR should be up in 5 minutes... lets hope. Amanda Dean just go on our chat, and she should be joining us when the realm goes back up. It was awesome getting all those /tells from people! I honestly didn't know we had fans!
1:46 p.m. PST - TTR not up. Found a blue post by Hortus that they've had record numbers on the TTR, which explains the hardware upgrade.
1:50 p.m. PST - Server's up! Pindrop (or someone with a very similar name) killed me right away! GG :-)
1:54 p.m. PST - Amanda D., Mandymoo, is joining us. As soon as she joins, server drops us.
2:00 p.m. PST - TTR is back to not working. Server shows as offline.
2:20 p.m. PST - TTR Backup. Faced a nice 3v3 match against "its charbars fault". They won.
2:40 p.m. PST - Arena match from hell. 3 resto druids vs. WoW Insider team. Just pointless. AoE? Okay, they all heal each other. Single target down, fine, the other two heal. Get me out of this match!!!
2:50 p.m. PST - Alex here again. Trying to mana drain three resto druids with only one mana drain equipped class on your team = not happening, apparently. But the server went down again before we had a resolution, so I'm calling it a win for WoW Insider, just because.
3:09 p.m. PST - Adam here. We won one! Screenie will be posted soon.
3:20 p.m. PST - Had a good match with "easy to us". GG.
3:30 p.m. PST - Neth actually responded to a tell I sent her! Maybe we'll get to face some GMs and CMs later. That'd really be a highlight of the day. Server keeps crashing though, glad we're stress testing things here instead of on the live tournament realm.
3:59 p.m. PST - Orgrimmar is being invaded by Hogger! We're doomed! The googles, they do nothin!
4:06 p.m. PST - Amanda M. Heading to Sen'jin on a rumor that there might be more things happening. Also going to check the Orc/Troll starting area. Honestly, this is the first time that I've ever seen Barrens chat have so many whiners, and yet almost no haters. I guess we're all too busy begging GMs hmmmm?
4:20 p.m. PST - Tons of fun thanks to the GMs. Clearwater in particular is having a lot of fun. Thanks to all the readers sending us tells! Sorry we can't respond to all of them! :-(
4:39 p.m. PST - Amanda M. Clearwater keeps taunting us with the prospect of mounts. In between getting thrown around, watching him turn into a female draenei warlock (note: draenei can't be warlocks) and other fun shapes, we're now fighting King Magni Bronzebeard. Alex and Adam have headed over to Eversong in the meantime.
4:33 p.m. PST - Nethera's team "Blue Team Go" went 7-4 in matches today.
4:40 p.m. PST - Alex: Had a little chat with Nethaera while heading over to Eversong to see whats up on the other continent. She's good people. Giggled at the mass mob chasing her wherever she went.
4:53 p.m. PST - Amanda M. Clearwater just granted me a Spectral Tiger mount! Many thanks! Now, if only my screenshots were working!
