The DS Life: Light the Way
Despite the title, this post has nothing to do with Prism: Light the Way, one of the DS's most interesting but overlooked puzzlers. Circuit City has the game on sale for $9.99 this week, though, so you should totally look into picking it up anyway!
For this week's edition of The DS Life, we'll look at several images taken from photographer Patrick Brosset's collection of light painting shots, long-exposure photos taken with streaks of light drawn over the scene. Some Nintendo DS games are so consuming, they actually reach out of the system's screens to surround itself around you and keep your attention in its tight grip. Of course, that engrossing energy is usually invisible to the human eye, but Patrick's camera managed to capture the evanescent incandescence as it reached out to grasp his girlfriend Pascale.
As Space Invaders Extreme players will tell you, waves of white UFOs are always the worst, as they don't give you any power-ups after you shoot them down! Still, this is an impressive shot -- the alien ships were from stencils placed over a flash. Patrick has a set with five more Space Invaders-themed photos, which you should check out.
These glowing ghosts are actually SPÖKA night lights from furniture retail chain Ikea. We've always thought that the one in the back looks like Kirby!
