EA Casual and the publisher's Sims division will merge following the resignation of Kathy Vrabeck, president of the Casual Entertainment label. GameDaily reports that EA CEO John Riccitiello told employees yesterday that the two divisions will merge due to similarities between the labels.
The Sims division obviously handles its namesake, while the casual label was in charge of things like Pogo.com. Several executives are playing musical chairs in the merge, and there's no official word if the group will feel the sting of the recently announced layoffs. Merging divisions usually reveals redundancies.
