Konami races onto WiiWare with 'Driift'

Maybe High Voltage Hot Rod Show lit a fire under Konami? We'd like to think so, because the company is prepping a new top-down racer for WiiWare called Driift. Featuring 12 different tracks based on 4 different environments (cityscape, hills, snow and desert oasis), the game promises to offer you some depth when getting your high speed race on. Players may choose from 32 vehicles from four different categories, with each being rated uniquely in speed, acceleration, handling, and grip.

Konami isn't stopping there, as the title has 7 different modes of play for single and multiplayer fun, which include Contamination (one player is "it" and must tag the others), Cold Potato (players must fight over a potato and hold onto it to gain points), and Meteorite (basically a normal race, but players must dodge falling meteorites).
