As inexplicable as the sudden resurgence of classic adventure games might be, the iPhone platform is experiencing a boom in remade point-and-clicks, with
Secret of Monkey Island out now and
Beneath a Steel Sky on the way. This week,
iPhSoft, publisher of the iPhone release of
Flight of the Amazon Queen, has released Adventure Soft's 1993 game
Simon the Sorcerer on the App Store, ported from the voiced CD-ROM version using ScummVM. The publisher's site mentions that the sequel will be available soon, as well. At least this steady stream of newly available old games is making it easier to watch all the
really new games
move into 2010 ... right?
