Ask Joystiq Nintendo: Mario hat stand edition

This week, a reader question about Club Nintendo reminded me of the rewards currently available, including the marginally useful, but so pretty Mario Nintendo DS Game Rack. I want one of these, but what would I do with it? Choose eight games to display? I might just get one and use it as a display piece with nothing in it. It can display itself.

Have you heard of any release date for Mario & Luigi RPG 3? Also, is it known what the offical title is?

It's out ... right now! You get a Mario & Luigi RPG 3! And you get a Mario & Luigi RPG 3! Actually, the last we heard is that it'll be out in "2009." We wouldn't expect Nintendo to say anything about it between now and E3. As for the title, it's been Mario & Luigi RPG 3 in press releases so far, just like the Japanese version. It would be weird if Nintendo kept the "RPG" for the third game after losing it from the titles of the previous two, but so far that seems to be the case.

I've been trying to update my Wii to the latest version Update 4, and I keep getting this error 32007. I went to the Nintendo forums, but there was no answer to this problem and many people seem to have it, do you know what can I do to update the console?

Try here for Nintendo's official word on that particular error. It sounds like an error related specifically to updates -- possibly that the connection is going too slowly. Try turning off whatever router security you have temporarily. Try a friend's internet connection, maybe.

My question is simple, and probably over-asked. When do YOU think Nintendo will finally give us some awesome Club Nintendo rewards like those available in Japan and Europe?

My answer is just as simple: If you're in the U.S., four months ago! If you're in Australia, last month! If you're referring to the free junk that Japanese Gold and Platinum members get, the U.S. Club Nintendo "year" ends on June 30, which is when eligibility for the free gifts will be determined.
