Kick-Ass gets 'New and Improved' on PSN next week
Perpetually startled developer WHA Entertainment has announced that a free update for its licensed PSN beat-em-up, Kick-Ass, will go live next Tuesday, November 9. The patch will introduce a new mission, a few new enemies and some new special moves for the game's un-superpowered protagonists, while adding a few intangible fixes, like better AI balancing and so-called "improved Trophies." Are they shinier this time around? We're lost.
The patch is apparently so potent that WHA now refers to the game as "Kick-Ass New and Improved," which ... is not the best title we've ever heard. How about "Kick-More-Ass," or "Kick-Assier?"

Based On The Popular Motion Picture, Downloadable Game Will Introduce
Several New Missions, Fights And Enemies To Its Action-Packed

New York, N.Y. November 3, 2010 - WHA Entertainment, a publisher and
developer of entertainment games based on leading IP Franchises,
announced today that Kick Ass New And Improved will be available
Tuesday, November 9, for the Sony PlayStation Network (PSN). The game
is rated M for Mature by the ESRB and can be downloaded for a low MSRP
of $9.99. The title includes new features, which include a new
mission, fights and enemies.

developers to go back and update content for consumers who previously
purchased the game as well as new players."
Consumers who have already bought and downloaded the game can visit the
PSN store and download Kick Ass New And Improved at no additional
cost. Based on the popular comedic superhero fantasy movie, Kick Ass
New And Improved introduces several new features that will enhance the
action-packed gameplay for the ultimate superhero adventure, including
new mission "Frank's Night Club" where players will face new enemies
and new fights! Among other new elements, the new Red Mist Boss fight
will feature extra player moves including a double hit spin attack and
a toss attack team move for all playable characters. Additional
enhancements throughout the game include AI balancing, sound
improvements and improved trophies.
Kick Ass New And Improved is a fully 3D action fighting game set in the
third-person perspective, where the player can play and control modern
day super heroes based on the storyline of the movie. Gamers will be
able to play as the three primary characters in the film - Kick-Ass,
Hit Girl, and Big Daddy. The story-driven game draws heavily from the
strengths of the intellectual property; an action combat game where
the characters finally grow sick of the crime around them, and decide
that they will do something about it.
Featuring multiple environments within New York City, players will be
faced with nine story missions including 2 bonus rounds and encounter
frantic super hero action as they face petty thugs and powerful mob
bosses, eventually bringing down Frank D'Amico. Players will also
have a blast with sub-missions and mini-games, to add even more
gameplay to the mix. Staying true to the intellectual property, the
game features visceral combat and plenty of gore, as the player's main
goal is to bring justice back to the city, no matter what the cost!
Featuring multiplayer local co-op gameplay, Kick-Ass brings an
unsurpassed integration of missions given via friend requests from the
