Lost Planet 2 can be found on PC October 15

Capcom has announced that its recent co-op monster hunting simulator -- or, to be more precise, its recent co-op monster hunting simulator titled Lost Planet 2 -- will arrive on the PC October 15. What's new for this version of the coolly received title? Well, it contains native support for NVIDIA 3D Vision and 3D Vision Surround graphics cards, meaning if you've collected the necessary gadgets, you'll be able to topple the towering Akrid and watch as they fall through your monitor, landing squarely in your half-eaten bowl of Cap'n Crunch. That's how 3D works, right?

The gigantic Akrid, epic environments, and heavily-armoured vital suits of Lost Planet 2 come to PCs beginning October 15!

Featuring support for DirectX 11 and DirectX 9, Lost Planet 2 delivers its Akrid-infested world in even greater detail. Through DirectX 11 features, smoke will have lifelike volume and depth, water surfaces react realistically to player interaction and bullets, and level bosses are rendered with more detail than ever before. Lost Planet 2 will also feature support for NVIDIA 3D Vision and 3D Vision Surround technologies (wireless 3D Vision glasses sold separately) bringing the on-screen action to a whole new dimension.

Beginning today, Capcom and NVIDIA have released a preview of Lost Planet 2. Containing both a gameplay test and Direct X 11 benchmark mode, this application allows gamers to test their PCs to ensure they get the optimum Lost Planet 2 experience.

The Lost Planet 2 preview includes:

Test A

The primary purpose of Test A is to give an indication of typical game play performance of the PC running Lost Planet 2. (i.e. if you can run Mode A smoothly, the game will be playable at a similar condition). In this test, the character's motion is randomized to give a slightly different outcome each time.

Test B

The primary purpose of Test B is to push the PC to its limits and to evaluate the maximum performance of the PC. It utilizes many functions of Direct X11 resulting in a very performance-orientated, very demanding benchmark mode.
