The Queue: Still Alive

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky, senior editor at WoW Insider and webmaster of a new quick and dirty MMO news site, will be your host today.

This video is great, and of course the name of the song is awesome (if you follow me on the Twitter you know what I mean).

Let's talk WoW!

Novalix asked:

Do we have an idea when 4.0.3 will go into effect?

Sometime shortly before Cataclysm launches. If I had to put money on the date, I'd say a week or two before Dec. 7.

Morrit asked:

I bought the BlizzCon virtual ticket. If I have to miss some stuff, will there be a way to watch it later, or must all enjoyment happen in real time?

The online stream will have the ability to go back and watch previous panels, segments, etc. -- at least, it did last year and I'd assume it will this year as well. You can go back and watch them for about a week or so after the con. The DirecTV feed can be recorded with a DVR if folks get that. We'll also have complete coverage, including liveblogs, up on the site.

Callmedrl asked:

A while back, I asked The Queue if Blizzard would ever normalize the mounts, adjusting their speed to the max speed known by the character. I was told, in no uncertain terms, "No." Hah!

Right. But at the time that was the best answer we could give, which was based off of what Blizzard told us and the community before. The Queue (and its previous self, Ask a Beta Tester) has been running for a few years now, so obviously there are tons of outdated and incorrect answers, given what we know now.

Blizzard is very very flexible in its development and design. What it says no to today, it might say yes to tomorrow. You just never know what are absolutes with Blizzard and what aren't. And this isn't a bad thing, either; its flexibility has kept this game alive for six years. Other major MMOs have come and gone within that time, and WoW is still king because of Blizzard's ability to adapt and change.

Razorlution commented:

I think it would be hilarious if 4.0.3 came out during BlizzCon; all these people that are at the event would not be able to take part. Just simply hilarious ...

I'm just going to copy and paste Amaxe's reply:

Hmm, I could just see the convention...

Ghostcrawler: "Now we will see the latest developments of WoW 4.0.3 as they load directly from the Blizzard server...

Message on Screen: [There are 19,485 people ahead of you. Your estimated time to enter is 9 hours, 55 minutes]

GC looks up and hears the clicking of laptop keyboards.

GC: Will you people turn off your @#$%ing computers so we can get into the server?
