Global Chat: Welcome back edition

Remember Global Chat? It may have fallen by the wayside last year, but it's a brand-new year and a great time to bring it back. We love hearing what you have to say at Massively, and we love it even more when we can share the best comments with all of our readers.

Massively staffers will be contributing some of their favorite comments every week, so keep an eye out every Sunday for more Global Chat, and maybe even pitch in a few of your own thoughts.

For now, follow along after the break to see what the Massively writers liked best in this week's Global Chat!

From the latest edition of The Guild Counsel, Diatonic says:

"Thanks for the refresher. I would also add that, although things change over time, the guild's reason for being should be consistent over time. If you are a casual or hardcore guild, PvE or PvP, let recruits know that up front and don't deviate from your core unless there is a compelling reason to do so."

Alchemeda jumped into this week's Enter at Your Own Rift column to weigh in on the newest beta event:

"THIS is why open world PvP will rock in this game. They said no over world objectives... but yes there are! What rift mobs can attack, we can attack. I just hope these are geared for that type of gameplay and not with guards that only go down to NPCs but not players. I can't wait to get guild groups together to thrash some quest hub in the other factions zone... they are trying to fight off invasions/rifts while fighting off invasion from the other faction. "

Finally, Mikx shared some thoughts on our analysis of the Guild Wars 2 kodan race:

"Yes, just look into the in-game sources. Prophecies is an interesting story but kind of underdeveloped. The addition of the Flameseeker Prophecies in-game mission book adds so much to the experience, with complexity and storytelling that I wish was in the game from the start. Still, that book and its entries are fantastic. With Prophecies (and Nightfall, and also some of the backstory for GW2/GW: Beyond with Palawa Joko), ArenaNet shows [it is] capable of (and I presume enjoy[s] telling) dark, intricate stories where player characters are lied to, are manipulated, and are forced to do some very bad things (kill the mursaat, release the titans, free Palawa Joko). It gives me a lot of hope for interesting storytelling in GW2. I doubt we'll simply be knights in shining armor slaying the evil dragons."

Remember, we'll be pulling some of our favorite comments from the article threads every week, so if you want to be featured here, keep your comments smart and clean!
