The Queue: Dark Phoenix Alchemy Lab

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

If you like smelling like elves, then you may like Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab's new RPG scents. The perfume oil blends are long-lasting, vary slightly depending on your skin chemistry, and, of course, smell good. Check out the full line of D&D-themed scents here. I'm buying a bottle of half-elf as soon as possible.

Meybocaj asked:

Where do you think the final showdown with deathwing will take place? There isn't a set place like icecrown citadel or black temple.

I'm not sure we've gotten definitive word from Blizzard where Deathwing will be, but given that we got whole new zones (or at least instances) for the end bosses of BC and Wrath, I anticipate that wherever it is will be shiny and new when we get to see it.

Some commenters suggested even deeper in Grim Batol, or Northeron, the only currently unavailable zone on the world map. Lord Daval Prestor, Deathwing's old human form, had claimed to be from that area back when he was messing up politics for the Alliance.

Cale asked:

Is there any reason, other than my educated guess below, why some classes are barred from using certain types of weapons?

I would think it's both lore and theme related. An Azerothian paladin wouldn't use a dagger, a priest wouldn't wield a sword. Also, different kinds of weapons have a legacy of being sympathetic to certain roles but not others - an ingrained tradition that would be difficult to change at this point. Still, it seems that any schmuck could put on a pair of brass knuckles or strap on a sword. I'm wondering why we have this constraint.

It's a matter of flavor and also a matter of item distribution. Ideally, you want every weapon a class can use to feel "right" when looking at the class' aesthetics and lore; you wouldn't expect a mage to run around with an axe, or a rogue with a polearm. Those options' flat-out not existing, on top of not being viable, means fewer classes fighting over the same loot -- a welcome relief.

Throm asked:

I remember there was a pre-cata post of all the class column bloggers talking about the new races for the classes. Anyone have a link?

That would be A Discussion in Defense of New Race/Class Combinations from August 2009. Note that this is where I called troll druids getting a bat form for flight.

Cfavat117 asked:

Do you think bliz will do anything about making the world feel more populated? It seems like I only see other players in the main cities. I feel like it would be a nice change if I could visit other zones and interact with other players rather than just standing around org or sw.

You can still interact with other players in the wild; they just have to be there. People hang out in cities because it's convenient, not because they like the scenery. Short of doing something incredibly dumb like putting auctioneers in random zones every day (don't do this, Blizzard), I'm not sure you can force people to be out in the world when they have no business there.
