NintendoWare Weekly: MDK2, Mighty Milky Way

A classic game is newly downloadable on Wii today, but it's not a Virtual Console title. IdeaSpark Labs' remake of BioWare's PC/Dreamcast/PS2 action adventure title MDK2 is up on WiiWare, allowing you to see that cool ribbon parachute thing again.

DSiWare has WayForward's Mighty Milky Way, an action puzzle game that depends on the creation of a path of tiny planets for the character Luna. There's also the gothic-esque timed platformer Tower of Deus and Whack-a-Friend. The latter makes sense as soon as you learn that the DSi camera is involved.

WiiWare

  • MDK2 (Interplay, 1 player, 1,000 Wii Points): A remake of a classic BioWare action game, in which you snipe as Kurt Hectic, combine junk into inventions as Dr. Hawkins, and shoot everything as the four-armed dog Max.

DSiWare

  • Mighty Milky Way (WayForward, 1 player, 800 DSi Points): Luna hops from planet to planet, creating new ones and destroying some to create the optimal path towards planet candy and away from a spacefaring dinosaur.

  • GO Series Tower of Deus (Gamebridge, 1 player, 200 DSi Points): Ascend a creepy tower quickly to dispel a curse in this platformer.

  • Whack-a-Friend (Agetec, 1 player, 200 DSi Points): Take pictures with the DSi camera, and then turn that picture into the basis of a whack-a-mole game.
