WRUP: This week, in cat-related news

Every week, just at the start of the weekend, we catch up with the WoW Insider staff and ask them, "What are you playing this week?" -- otherwise known as WRUP. Join us to see what we're up to in and out of game, and catch us in the comments to let us know what you're playing, too!

Welcome to this week's What aRe yoU Playing, brought to you by Catertainment! And you're in for quite a treat -- today's column is the cat's meow!

Item! What has got those cool cats drawn to the Firelands like it was filled with catnip? Why, I'd be willing to bet it's Fandral's Flamescythe, the hot new Firelands weapon that turns kitty druids into flaming kitty druids! Those pesky hunters may want to get their paws on it, but giving it to them -- why, that'd be a cat-astrophe!

Item! What WoW Insider cat lover just had his favority pussy groomed? Why, it's Mat McCurley, who reports his cat's hot new "do" is purrfect!

That's all our items for today, but don't you all go taking a cat nap, now! We've still got WRUPing to do! This week's bonus question: "When do you expect patch 4.3 to come out, and what kind of raid or 5-man instance do you expect it to have?"

Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) (gplus.to/adamholisky) I'l be working a bit on my warlock, getting him ready for some raiding. I'd like to pick up a few more epics on him, but we'll see how much I can stand the random Dungeon Finder... might not be that much. In patch 4.3, I'm expecting three new 5-man heroics, much like 3.3 gave us.

Alex Ziebart (@alexziebart) Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. I picked up the franchise pack during the Steam summer sale and have been having hella fun working through them all. As for patch 4.3, I'm expecting War of the Ancients.

Anne Stickney (@shadesogrey) I'm not sure what I'm doing this weekend, actually. Probably working on one of a billion household projects. Maybe I'll go get paint. Patch 4.3 -- I am expecting a 5-man or two, with War of the Ancients coming out the patch after that. Probably 4.3 will have all the new holiday stuff, too!

Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb) (gplus.to/danielwhitcomb) I still need to bomb a couple more elementals on my DK to get the Flamebreaker title, so I'll be keeping up the dailies in hope said elementals show up. Also capping out my valor points so I can pick up another piece of tier on schedule. As far as 4.3, I too am guessing we'll get the War of the Ancients Caverns of Time raid. I'm hoping we'll either have stop Rhonin, Krasus and Broxigar from mucking up the timeline, or stop the Infinites from stopping Illidan from recreating the Well of Eternity. But really, I just hope it's not a tourist raid like Hyjal was. I want a purpose for being there!

Fox Van Allen (@foxvanallen) (gplus.to/foxvanallen) This weekend, I'll be continuing my yearly play-through of The Legend of Zelda, capping out my valor points by running heroics with WoW Insider readers, and watching my drunk roommate sing in some Harvard Square bar.

Patch 4.3 ... Given the elemental theme that we've seen the last two patches (Al'Akir and now Ragnaros), I'm predicting we'll be heading into the Abyssal Maw to take on a corrupted (yawn) Neptulon. And it should be launching right before the new year -- or, in other words, about two or three months after you're so sick of Firelands you've stopped playing WoW altogether.

Joe Perez (@Lodurzj) First and foremost is apartment hunting. Need to find a new pad by September, so that will be occupying the majority of my time. WoW if I can, need to make sure I valor cap for the week. Going to play some more League of Legends, as well; I'm having a blast as WuKong the monkey king. He's an interesting melee character that has quite a few tricks. Also I got the fire monkey skin, and well, hitting things in the face as a monkey that's on fire with a flaming quarter staff is just silly amounts of fun.

Patch 4.3 -- I want a Keepers of Time War of the Ancients raid. We haven't been back into CoT in a while, I think it's time we get an epic adventure through there again.

Kelly Aarons (@Cadistra) Doing some drawing work; then it's fireworks and the Vancouver Pride Parade! Hooray for human rights! If I get a chance, I'll be playing WoW, Catherine, and From Dust. About the bonus question -- are people really that impatient that they're whining about 4.2? Cripes, people! Go read a book or something!

Lisa Poisso (@emused) (gplus.to/lpoisso) I'm with Anne -- probably getting into a big ol' can of paint for some bookcases. Of course, that actually means sanding them down, so ... grinding. Grinding, grinding, and more grinding. The next patch will bring much the same as 4.2: not enough new content for the endgame raiders, too much nerfing for the slowbie raiders, a bunch of dailies that players rush through and leave behind, and nothing for players who play off those beaten tracks.

Mat McCurley (@gomatgo) (gplus.to/gomatgo) Job searching, League of Legends, and some WoW in the mix. Probably going to Coney Island this weekend, I think. Patch 4.3 will probably be the War of the Ancients, and I think we're going to be going back in time to harm Deathwing in the past to hurt him in the future. Or we will be figuring out how to cure Nozdormu of his sickness and help him get back to full power to fight Deathwing. Good times.

Matt Low (@Matticus) Going on a massive recruiting and rebuilding spree over the weekend. Oh, World of Warcraft, you can be a pain sometimes. Not sure what to do in the games department. I've run out of stuff to play! I beat Black Ops last week!

Matt Rossi (@MatthewWRossi) This weekend, I will be working more on getting back into drawing, I'm working on a super-secret project that will probably never happen. I'm also going to be working on my short fiction piece "Black Metal" on my blog and blotting out the sun in Orgrimmar on my tauren by taking Elixirs of Giant Growth and riding around on my talbuk. Orgrimmar will need to pay me a ransom before I let the sun past my terrifying, giant-faced shoulders.

Patch 4.3 will be right around the time TOR launches and will have even larger shoulders in it. Soon, we will be wearing shoulders so large not even light can escape them.

Michael Gray (@writegray) (gplus.to/writegray/) The wife and I are seeing Wicked at the Kennedy Center, so we're probably going to hit the National Zoo and grab sushi in D.C. Then Sunday, I'll be playing a real-life version of Tetris as I build a fence. My life isn't very exciting.

Mike Sacco (@mikesacco) I'll be getting a haircut, continuing my dark descent into irony on Twitter, and maybe playing video games at some point. Patch 4.3 will either be this expansion's last patch or worst patch (or both).

Robin Torres (@cosmiclaurel) (gplus.to/cosmiclaurel) I'll be marching to Stormwind to protest the living! I'll also be sampling salsa while The Spousal Unit experiments with homemade recipes. Oh, and Tiny Tower will be played. I predict patch 4.3 will bring happiness for the endgamers for a few weeks and then a whole lot of impatience for the next content. Meanwhile, the journey players like me will continue to have fun, except for when we are leveling leatherworking.

Tyler Caraway (@murmursofadruid) For the first time in months, I have no outside weekend plans, so I'll probably spend some quality time gearing my paladin and working on my shaman. I bet 4.3 has a 5-man given Blizzard's track record, hope we also see the WoA raid.

The weekend is the perfect time to kick back, relax and enjoy some game time. Are you an achievement junkie? Can't get enough raiding? Rolling a new alt? Considering taking the leap into roleplaying? Whatever your favorite way to play World of Warcraft, let us know in the comments what you're playing this weekend!
