The Queue: Hold it!

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

I was hoping that this week's Tokyo Game Show would give us a reveal trailer for Phoenix Wright in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but alas, all we got was Iron Fist and Vergil. Guess we wait for New York Comic-Con.

Jlhealy asked:

What ever happened to that WoW movie I heard internet rumors about ages ago? Just rumors, or is something in the works? What would the focus be, story-wise?

As far as I'm aware, it's still happening, just very slowly. Sam Raimi has other projects to work on before the WoW movie, and knowing Blizzard's development time on games and insane amount of desired IP control, it could be a long, long time before we hear anything about it. We certainly don't know anything about the story yet.

qwertyguy asked:

Lorewise, could the 4 other dragon aspects take down Deathwing in a fair fight? (assuming the aspects wont get chain CC:d by a druid)

You may want to read Thrall: Twilight of the Aspects if you want an idea of how combat-capable the aspects are. You should just assume that Deathwing has Plot Armor until otherwise noted.

Spectres asked:

The "Scattered Shots: Hunter class feedback" article that Brian Wood did yesterday was amazingly awesome. Blizzard has put up a topic for each class. Are there plans at WoW Insider to do those for each of the other classes?

Tyler Caraway did one of these for balance druids yesterday, but it's up to our individual columnists whether they want to compile one of their own for their particular spec(s).

Nina Katarina asked:

So, there was a blue post yesterday agreeing that the mage t13 and druid t13 are inspired by the level 85 spells that they got with Cataclysm, and implying that the Paladin set will have design features in common with Guardian of Ancient Kings.

What other spells new with
Cataclysm could inspire a tier set? Will priests be getting Lightwell armor? More birdbath shoulders?

Personally, I'm hoping for a Smoke Bomb-themed set for rogues.

Moobs asked:

You answered the shaman question about soloable raids in BC from thier point how about in general are certain classes better at soloing BC raids than others?

For me it would be from the warriors persecptive.

I was thinking more of in general for Kara like X class might have this problem but all the others would be fine; sort of answer.

Soloability is a malleable concept, really, but the classes that are best at it tend to be ones that have the ability to self-heal as well as mitigate damage. Druids, paladins, and death knights are all very good at soloing old content in their respective tanky forms.

The Dewd asked:

With all this talk about T3 (and other old sets) do you think Blizzard would ever make another 8-piece set, even if they did it like T6 with the SWP pieces? Even if they won't, do you think they SHOULD even if they only kept two set bonuses per set? I realize that things like bracers don't stand out a lot and belts only do because of the new WWE-style. I realize there are offset pieces that more or less match even with the cross-class concerns (like ferals/rogues and hunters/enhancement shaman) but there was, to me, something special about knowing that there were more pieces to get or the joy of getting *another* set piece instead of just a boss drop.

When I worked at Blizzard, I asked Jeff Kaplan about the move from eight-piece to five-piece sets. He said that eight-piece sets made people feel like they had no choice in gearing, that you just had to get all eight pieces or you weren't doing it right. Five pieces allowed players to still get two set bonuses and left plenty of slots for non-set items with important stat values.
