Massively exclusive: Rusty Hearts prepares for the Awakening

Open betas are always a heady time for players and MMO studios alike, and Rusty Hearts is proving to be no exception to this. The fast-pace action title has been in open beta for a little under a month at this point, but Perfect World Entertainment is already putting the final touches on its first major content update, Awakening.

Perfect World promises that Awakening contains not only some ideas the developers thought would be good to get in the game but also several features that came as a result of player feedback. With a higher level cap, additional quests and dungeons, and weapons galore, Rusty Hearts players are going to have their plates full when the update hits on October 11th.

Rusty Hearts boss fight

Increased level cap

  • New level cap will be 30, providing you with the opportunity to gain new weapons, skills and quests, and dungeons.

Rich side quests

  • Over 85 quests to complete

  • Delve deeper into the relationship between Pierre and Pamela

  • Make a Voodoo Doll for the cow, Ursula

  • Resurrect Thanatos, an ancient angel of death

  • Learn a portion of Heo's past

  • Help Poison and her husband with their relationship

  • Hunt a giant snake

  • Explore the Maw of Madness within the Guest Villa

Immersive story quests

  • Over 40 new story quests to complete and immerse you in Rusty Hearts' lore.

Four beautiful new dungeons

  • Steamworks: Is it getting hot in here or is it just us? Steamworks is a maze of broken pipes and poisonous gases that require nerves of steel. If the fumes don't get you there's no shortage of Vlad's comrades to challenge you. Be careful where you step, Steamwork's machinery and traps may prove overwhelming.

  • Collapsed Halls: Navigate your way through the Collapsed Halls ruins and overthrow the enemies that lurk in the shadows. It's been said that those who've entered have never returned, but they can still be seen wandering these halls.

  • Public Baths: Few people like using public baths, even fewer like to wander them when they're haunted with evil minions. Find your way through these baths without losing your cool. Losing your towel will be the least of your worries. Haken, Hammer Butcher, Archers and Platina bosses will make sure things heat up!

  • Guest Villa: This isn't your parents' guest house in Bel Air! This cryptic villa was once a warehouse that was later renovated to accommodate guests. While the villa has seen plenty of new tenants, no one has checked out. The work was never finished on the renovations so please pardon the dust and evil spirits.

Epic new bosses

  • Fight Lord Curtis and Viper, two brand-new bosses boasting strong and vicious attacks, as you raid through Collapsed Halls and Steamworks.

  • At the end, face off against Stone Golem as you explore the Guest Villa. He is a large, powerful golem who possesses heavy, stunning attacks while wielding two enormous clubs. Not only will players have to face him alone, but they'll also have to find ways to destroy the healing minions who attack alongside him.

More training grounds

  • Unlock the second underground training facility and challenge yourself to 10 floors of an increasing number of bigger and fiercer enemies. Each floor drops training hall tickets, which will allow you to obtain special gear for your character.

Exciting new items

  • Over 550 new items will be added in to the game, giving you even more loot to search for and acquire.

Ridiculous new weapons for all three main characters

  • Angela: Expert Chaos, Demon Witch Sword, Demonic Witch Scythe, Misericord and Golem Magic Sword

  • Frantz: Expert Demonic Blade, Slayer, Iron Slayer, Massive Butcher Axe, Pro Lavinunce Edge, and Stone Golem Sword

  • Tude: Expert Black Rose, Dangerous, Dignity, Jade Gauntlets, Haken Patina Gauntlets, Massive Butcher Claw, Enchanted Massive Butcher Gauntlets

New skills

  • 30 new skills will be available to learn and master

  • Frantz: Bewilder, Summon Master Level 3, Dark Material

  • Angela: Paper Cut, Sleep, Windy Weapon

  • Tude: Battle Cry, Wolf Cry, Shadow Jab

New hair forging system

  • Completely brand-new hair customization tool that will let you customize your hair outside of the cash shop.
