MV Guide: February 7 - 14, 2011

MV Guide is a weekly rundown of the MMO gaming events planned on Massively's Livestream channel.

Every week the Massively staff logs in to play various MMOs live and in person, and we'd love for you to drop by the channel and visit. We have a combination of regular weekly games and new surprises, so you'll find a variety of games to take a look at. During Livestream events, you can participate in the live chat to learn about the game, ask questions, and spend some time with Massively staff and readers.

Did you miss out on something from last week's events? Take heart -- most of them were captured on our on-demand channel for you to watch at your leisure. Shawn logged some time in Earthrise, Beau treated us to a double feature with both Perfect World and Ragnarok Online, Larry continued his crime-fighting agenda in DC Universe Online, and Karen had some fun with her EverQuest II guildies.


Monday, 1:00 p.m. EST: Shawn -- Allods Online
Join Massively's Editor-in-Chief Shawn Schuster as he takes you through his favorite MMOs. Considering the fact that he can't seem to stick with one game for long, you're bound to see a variety of titles, including betas, new releases, and old favorites. In this episode, Shawn gives Allods Online another chance (for real this time!). He'll dabble with some established characters and run through character creation to check up on what's new in the game since he last he played it (last year!).

Tuesday, 9:00 p.m. EST: Beau -- Free Realms
This week Beau will be revisiting Free Realms! It's been out for a long time now, so he'll try to note what has changed from character creation to owning a house. Look for his Pixie character named Beau Hindman as he explores the world! Be careful, though, since he has a trigger finger when it comes to snowball fights.

Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. EST: Krystalle -- Zentia
This week, Krystalle is turning her attention toward the fabled epic shrimp vs. crab battles promised in the marketing for Zentia -- and you can join in on the silliness through the magic of livestreaming!

Wednesday 5:00 p.m. EST: Larry Everett -- DC Universe Online
Despite sound issues, Massively Man was able to defeat Brainiac's forces in the desert last week. However, the fight for truth and justice continues! Something has gone wrong at Metropolis General Hospital. Patients are running amok; Superman has asked the Massively Overpowered league to help. Hmm... doesn't Lexcorp help fund that hospital? If you'd like to join the fight, contact Shaddoe or Massively Man in-game on the Zero Hour server.

Thursday, 9:00 p.m. EST: Rubi -- Guild Wars
Rubi and the Massively Overpowered guild are in the home stretch of Factions! We've completed Unwaking Waters (helping the corrupted Kuunavang in the process) and are heading back to Kaineng Center to gain access to Raisu Palace this week. Want to join in the fun? Meet us in Japanese district 1 or send a whisper to Rubi Djinn.

Friday, 8:00 p.m. EST: Jeremy -- Runes of Magic
Jeremy takes a first look at Runes of Magic to show you what makes this MMO tick. Tune in to see questing, housing, and crafting as well as to ask your questions about RoM. He'll be running around on his level 45/25 Priest/Rogue. It will be loosely structured to allow viewers to see what they want and get their questions answered.

Saturday - 9:00 p.m. EST: Karen -- EverQuest II
This week, Karen will take a closer look at the mentoring system in EverQuest II. She'll cover the basics of how to mentor down in level, highlight the chronomage system, and then take a trip into Deathfist Citadel, a lower-level instance from the original EverQuest II that remains one of her favorite zones. Let's hunt some orc!
