MV Guide: July 11 - 17, 2011

MV Guide is a weekly rundown of the MMO gaming events planned on Massively's Livestream channel.

Every week, the Massively staff logs in to play various MMOs live and in person, and we'd love for you to drop by the channel and visit. We have a combination of regular weekly games and new surprises, so you'll find a variety of games to take a look at. During Livestream events, you can participate in the live chat to learn about the game, ask questions, and spend some time with Massively staff and readers. (Of course, Livestream events are subject to the whims of outside forces like server-side gremlins once in a while.)

Monday, 1:00 p.m. EDT: Shawn -- Picaroon
Join Shawn this week as he explores the indie MMORTS Picaroon. He'll walk through some of the basics of city and unit creation, upgrading, and some good strategies for beating your opponents.

Monday, 3:00 p.m. EDT: Beau -- Gunshine
There have been a lot of developments in this cool little browser-based action game, so join Beau as he walks you through many of them. Bring your shotgun, a crowbar and plenty of ammo.

Tuesday, 3:00 p.m. EDT: Beau -- Star Legends
Watch Beau's hands as they lovingly play the brand new mobile MMO Star Legends, brought to us by the same people who make Pocket Legends -- Spacetime Studios. No, there is no space flight yet, but the game is still pretty cool!

Wednesday, 3:00 p.m. EDT: Beau -- Ministry of War
If you like to control massive armies, trade large amounts of virtual goods, or conquer your digital neighbors, MoW is the one for you.Follow along as Beau shows how a noob like him can survive in such a harsh environment.

Friday, 3:00 p.m. EDT: Beau -- Milmo
Once again Beau has decided to show you a game that he has before, but that has received so many updates that it is like an entirely different game! Milmo is an action-based Unity game that runs right in your browser. Customization is crazy good, and housing is cool, too.

Friday, 8 p.m. EDT: Jeremy -- Runes of Magic
There's a new 12-man "world battlefield" in Runes of Magic and Jeremy is going to try to get every slot filled for it. Bolynthia Rift is a new instanced zone for parties of up to 12 players where you burn through increasingly difficult mobs, knock down gates and try to reach and destroy the boss before the one-hour time-limit ends. Hop on the livestream, join Jeremy in game or do both.

Saturday, 3:00 p.m. EDT: Beau -- Vanguard: Saga of Heroes
You know Beau had to sneak in some time with one of his favorite games! Also, he felt bad that Vanguard wasn't even mentioned at Fan Faire, so he decided to show it off a little in the hopes of attracting some new players. Rakis away!
