GameStop Q3 results see sales increase, profits dip by $800k

GameStop has released its financial results for its fiscal third quarter, which ended October 29. Things remained relatively flat, with sales seeing a slight increase from $1.9 billion during the same period last year to $1.95 billion (keeping in mind that "slight" in this case is fifty million dollars). Meanwhile, earnings (AKA profits) fell from $54.7 million last year to $53.9 million.

The game peddler noted a major bump in "digital" sales, with console digital sales increasing 63 percent and PC digital sales growing by 51 percent. Presumably, the console "digital" sales numbers refer to retail tokens for downloadable content.

Meanwhile, the company's best selling titles were Gears of War 3, Battlefield 3, Madden NFL 12, Batman: Arkham City and Dead Island.
