The Queue: Adorable baby giraffe

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mathew McCurley (@gomatgo) will be your host for today.

Sacco showed us this picture of a baby giraffe on Monday. Seriously -- look at that guy.

Massive update: It's not a giraffe. Thanks, Mike Sacco, Wrong Animal Guy, Ph.D.

Connellyreceipe asked:

The bosses in Cataclysm seemed like they where pulled out of the abyss, with the exception of the final bosses. Yet, in previouse expansions we all knew they where coming sooner or later, like for example Blood Queen, Sindragosa, Thorim, etc...

Am I wrong about this? Is there any lore that backs up some of the Cataclysm bosses prior to their releases?

I can sort of understand where you're coming from with that. For the most part, I think it feels that way because Wrath of the Lich King was fairly self-contained but for the story of Arthas, which has permeated three games already. Everything sort of led into the next thing -- characters like the Blood Princes and Sindragosa were woven in through the story, and we eventually got to fight them. Many of the villains in Cataclysm were returning villains from farther back in people's minds because it has been a while since we've seen any of them relative to how recently and neatly we saw them packaged in Wrath.

To be honest, there are a lot of bosses we don't have lore for or that just sort of appeared out of nowhere. That doesn't stop us from being interested in them and enjoying their fights and mechanics. Sometimes a boss just doesn't need a story. I want to kill him all the same, you see.

mordred asked:

is there a way to get one of the winter veil hats for a level 85 character who doesn't normally run dungeons and isn't geared for heroics? thanks.

I believe that there are Winterveil hats that drop off of non-heroic bosses and potentially bosses that you grossly outgear at level 85 to get your hat from -- at least I hope so ... I would imagine that this year, Blizzard will add in more hats to more dungeons in Cataclysm, so even if you still have to enter a heroic to get a hat, it can be one of the original Cataclysm heroics that you should breeze through these days or even get carried through.

Defias Bandit asked:

What happened to characters that people camped out on Darkmoon Isle once the Faire left?

You are teleported to Mulgore or Elwynn, respective of faction.

Comedy answer: You belong to the Faire now.

stephpaul7 asked:

Is it possible to complete the Fangs of the Father quest chain thru LFR? Or can I at least start off the chain? I wasn't thinking much about it last night that I would be able to pick pocket the first quest.

No, you must be in normal- or heroic-mode 10- or 25-man Dragon Soul to begin and complete the legendary quest chain for Fangs of the Father. Raid Finder is still not equal in terms of progression quests and mechanics, so Raid Finder difficulty is locked out of legendary quests. Blizzard wants to keep those items rare enough to stay legendary while rewarding guilds that put in the time and effort to get them.

Blomblom asked:

Do you have any info about the Runescroll of Might? It would seem to be made by inscription, and was mentioned in the patch notes, but yet doesn't seem to be available anywhere. Cheers.

I don't believe that the Runescroll of Might is available to players right now in game. It was included in the patch notes, but Wowhead is still displaying that the item is not available to players. It's probably an oversight, to be honest. At this point we have no idea; however, it does look like it's made with inscription or dropped somewhere.
