Hey, Draw Something, I'mma let you finish, but Angry Birds Space is the fastest-growing mobile of all time--of all time! Rovio's star-studded sequel to its ubiquitous mobile game franchise earned 50 million downloads in just 35 days, GamesIndustry International reports. This beats the record set by Zynga's new darling, Draw Something, by 15 million.

However, it's important to keep in mind that A.) Angry Birds Space is available on iOS, Android, PC and Mac and B.) Rovio has amassed a cult-like following over the course of just over two years, whereas Draw Something hit the block months ago. Still, this is quite the precedent to set for mobile game makers to come.

"This has been simply amazing, and the whole Rovio team is thrilled to see such a fantastic reception for the game," Rovio said in a release. "We extend our deepest gratitude to all fans of Angry Birds everywhere. While numbers like this certainly say something about the popularity of Angry Birds, for us the main goal is to keep creating fun new experiences that everybody can enjoy!"

Rovio went on to mention that the first major update to Angry Birds Space is now available, which includes a teaser for what's to come. With Homer potentially on the Angry Birds' side (and 750 million total downloads under its wings), Rovio will surely do whatever it takes to beat its own record.

Are you surprised that Rovio set the record once again? What do you hope comes next for Angry Birds? Sound off in the comments. Add Comment.
